Social Security – Hiring incentives

Presidential Decree 12/22, of January 17th, established the juridical regime of the Social Security measures for the incentives on hiring unemployed citizens, young people and disabled people.

We would like to highlight the following measures:
i. Reduction to 50% of the employer contribution on hiring unemployed citizens. This benefit has the duration of 12 (twelve) months.

ii. On hiring young people, exemption of the employer contribution on the first 6 (six) months of the contract. On the next 6 (six) months, reduction of such contribution on 50%.

iii. Exemption of the employer contribution on hiring disabled people for a period of 12 (twelve) months.

iv. Exemption of the payment of interest on the voluntary regularization of debts to the Social Security, as provided in the Law, on the condition of the debtor to keep the number of the employees at the date of the regularization.

To benefit of the above measures, it should be attended the definitions and conditions provided in the referred Presidential Decree. These measures are valid for a period of 36 months.
