Legal Regime on Tourism Visa

The recent Presidential Decree 189/23, of September 29th, approves the legal regime of exemption and simplification of the procedures for the granting of tourist visas.

According to the mentioned regime, the national citizens of the countries listed in the annex to the diploma above, which includes 98 countries, are exempt from tourist visa for stays in Angola, for a 30 days period, per entry, and 90 days, per year. Such visitors will only have to comply with the proper formalities at the border posts, among the same to present a passport with a validity longer than the period of the stay and an international certificate of vaccines.

The Presidential Decree also provides for simplified procedures for the granting of tourist visas to national citizens of other countries than the ones mentioned above, instructing the diplomatic and consular missions of such countries to adopt a “simplified and unbureaucratic service" that guarantees the granting of tourist visas within a period of less than three days.

The Presidential Decree enters into force 30 days after its publication, and revokes Presidential Decrees 56/18, of February 20th and 150/18, of June 10th.
